OSL for artists (and developers) ? Building up a toolbox for procedural textures

When you look at the Open Shading Language as a plugin system for Nodes in Cycles it opens up endless possibilities for artists. This workshop will show the advantages of OSL for creating procedural textures or patterns by using small building-block OSL scripts.

How to use an OSL script as a simple plugin for Cycles

How to set up a tool box for node-based creation of procedural patterns

How to use OSL for simple background-compositing directly in Cycles

How developers could design OSL scripts to make them node-network-friendly for artists
