Smart sampling - Tips for Cycles rendering

<p>Cycles has become a versatile and high quality rendering engine over the past years and allows artists to create stunning visuals.<br />
Rendering time can become a problem though, especially for animation. In this workshop I will show tips and tricks on how to speed up Cycles rendering and demonstrate several techniques to reduce noise.</p>

  • Thomas started using Blender in 2007. Two years later he joined the 2.5x project and worked on the User Interface (mostly UI layouts). Later he passionately joined the Cycles renderer team and worked on features like shading, performance and OSL. He got a Google Summer of Code grant three times (2013, 2014 and 2016). Today he works full time as Development Coordinator for Blender.
