This talk explores how engineers can create domain-specific tools in Blender using the low-code development add-on Serpens and powerful Python libraries such as OpenSeesPy. The presentation highlights StructureWorks, a structural analysis add-on that brings finite element simulation into Blender’s 3D environment. By combining node-based visual scripting with external Python tools, engineers can now prototype and deploy custom workflows with minimal coding. This session demonstrates how Blender offers an accessible and highly visual alternative to traditional engineering software, aiming to inspire the AEC community and others to consider Blender as a platform for building tailored, professional-grade tools.
