This session explores how Blender became the core of a scalable VFX pipeline for a 2D animated feature. We’ll cover how a three-person team automated drop shadows, compositing setups, and cross-software integration across ~800 scenes—while tracking everything through custom spreadsheets and Flamenco. Real production numbers, working tools, scene studies and simple scripting approaches will be shared to help freelancers and small teams build efficient pipelines without deep programming knowledge.
After five years freelancing as a Blender generalist, Gregorio founded GGfx to take on a Cannes- and Annecy-featured film with Penguin Content—and to pursue the dream of running an open-source-powered independent studio.
He previously worked in music and audio engineering, passions he still enjoys and sometimes brings into animation work.
