The Material Point Method (MPM) is a powerful technique for physical simulations, combining elastic, rigid, sand, and fluid objects. Over the past decade, it has become an important tool for VFX. Houdini and Maya already support it. In this talk, you will get an intuitive explanation of how MPM works and a showcase of a work-in-progress extension written in Rust that integrates MPM into Blender.
