Making the internet 3D and interactive (again)

Origin of our project: HfK–Virtual-Spaces, was the need and curiosity for an adequate counterpart to physical art or design exhibitions as well as a virtual representation for music concerts or performances at our University of the Arts. To achieve this we improved the connection of Blender and the web-based 3D-platform Hubs which can provide interactive 3D-worlds in almost any modern browser. Interactivity was implemented using behavior-graph nodes in Blender. A node-based solution to tackle gamelogic for everybody who wants to use Blender to create interactive 3D worlds. Be it for art-exhibitions, virtual (live) concerts, teaching sessions, or many more.

  • Gottfried Hofmann is a Blender Foundation Certified Trainer and consultant for Blender scenarios. He is founder of the Blender tutorial website BlenderDiplom.com. His main focus are the more technical parts of CG, including visualizations, motion graphics, VFX and Python development. He is co-author of The Cycles Encyclopedia.

  • Frederik is a Blender Foundation Certified Trainer and CG generalist from Berlin. His skills range from modeling and texturing up to shading and python scripting. He is author of the Cycles Encyclopedia that was first presented at last year's Blender conference.
