We are here because we love the concept of "Digital Transmorphism"—the idea of transforming real-world objects within Blender's limitless 3D environment. The presentation will showcase Roberts art and open-source workflow for transforming digitalisations of the real world, processing them for manufacturing on his home-built CNC router, from within Blender.
He has a strong background in "Making" and 3D design, both in Blender and in the real world. This led him to build his own CNC machine." To him, Digital Transmorphism is the process of transforming a real-world object or drawing into another real-world object through a digital process. His machine uses Linux CNC and is capable of cutting a standard sheet of ply or carving wood up to 100mm thick. During the talk, He will discuss his scanning process right through to printing/carving.
