This will be our second Dutch Meetup at the Blender Conference. Last year the idea was born to translate the Blender manual into the missing language: Dutch. We will speak about the Progress of the translation of the Blender manual into Dutch. While Blender itself is a global tool, the vast majority of documentation is currently available in English and other languages, creating a barrier for some Dutch-speaking users. For beginners and even advanced users, having access to clear, detailed instructions in Dutch can significantly enhance the learning curve and broaden Blender's reach in the Netherlands and Belgium.
In this talk, we'll cover two key aspects: First, the reasons why translating the Blender manual into Dutch is so important, not just for accessibility but also for fostering a more inclusive Blender community. Second, I'll walk you through the process—what it takes to carry out this translation, the challenges we face, and how you can get involved.
