Photo realistic anatomical 3D models created in Blender, impressive Visual Effects and an immersive Haptic Feedback take medical simulation to the next level. <p>The presenter of this talk is a senior software engineer and expert in medical simulation at SenseGraphics. He received his M.Sc. (2005) and Ph.D. (2011) degrees in computer science from RWTH Aachen University. From 2007 to 2008 he worked as a visiting researcher at the National Institute of Informatics in Tokyo, Japan. His research interests are primarily virtual reality, medical simulation with a special focus on soft-body physics simulation and haptic rendering. Since 2008 he is a member of the Web3D consortium and part of the Medical working group.</p>
