Philippe-Aubert Gauthier is a professor at UQÀM's École des arts visuels et médiatiques, a mechanical engineer, master of science and doctor of mechanical engineering (acoustics). He works at the crossroads of art, science and technology. His works take forms ranging from installation, sound and digital to performance and music. With Tanya St-Pierre, they use Blender since 2009. He has produced over fifty sound and digital artworks. His work has been presented in Quebec, Canada, the United States, Mexico, France, England, Germany and Japan. Since 2001, P.-A. Gauthier has received grants from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Fonds Recherche Québec, and the Fonds Nature et Technologies du Québec. As a researcher and artist, he has published more than 80 articles and lectures, and has given 30 workshops and conferences in the arts and technology. He is associate director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Music, Media and Technology.
